There is no guarantee that every business I create will be a winner, but I make sure that I learn a new skill in the process.
Why?
Because the more I learn, the more I can earn in the future.
The business may have failed, but the skill I’ve learnt will stay with me for life and bring me to a greater height in the future.
That’s the mentality I had whenever I started a new business.
I am not just preaching.
You see, I started my online career with no knowledge in website building and internet marketing.
I started my first online business with a purchased script. Anyone can do that.
But to customized the script, I learnt HTML and CSS.
As the business grew, I learnt PHP and mySQL so as to fix script errors.
As I continued to build more complicated web applications, I learnt Javascript.
Besides programming skills, I also learn internet marketing skills. One example is search engine optimization.
In 2009, I combined my programming skills and search engine optimization knowledge to build a link building network.
My idea was to get website owners to convert a subdirectory of their websites into an article directory. At the same time, they could submit spun articles and post to the article directories in the network.
I also created a complex algorithm to make sure that there was no reciprocal linking because Google would discount reciprocal backlinks.
Through advertising, I got about 100 free beta users to try out the system. The results were staggering.
Not only had their search engine ranking improved, they were at the same time getting search engine traffic through the articles posted in their article directories.
In the first week of its official launch, this website brought in about $50k in sales.
I’m not trying to brag. I just want to show you why I say the more I learn, the more I earn.
If you keep on learning and taking action, making money online is just a matter of time.
